It’s a carefully drafted story that is so relevant today in the midst of abusive relationships that are romanticized. While I have a bio on Goodreads as a service to my readers, I do not visit Goodreads on a regular basis.
I felt like I by accident found someones journal on the sidewalk and read so deep into their life. Mar 12, MaKaylin Sulser rated it really unserwater it. I’ve read several other books by this author, and this one is far and away, her best in my opinion.
I understand from a friends review that the author was compelled to write this story after working with battered women and children. I grin like an idiot as the bailiff swears Caitlin in and a lawyer in a gray, polyester skirt begins asking her questions.
Only his is by his father. Her tears, brimming before spill out, unchecked. So folks, that is my initial gut reaction of dlinn book. And what surprises me is that it’s written in the eye of the abuser. God, how did we get here?
And I have to say, I never really thought of it before. Nick is in a battle now. Najednou se stane vyvrhelem. Interestingly, the author, Alex Flinn interned with the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office, while in law school trying several domestic violence cases.
breathiny McCourt shakes her head. He grew and matured a lot and he began to take responsibility for his actions, to understand where he went wrong and that what he was doing WAS wrong. I’m sure that the author wrote it thinking that if she could make a difference in even one person’s life it would be well worth it.

I don’t think I ever once felt the spirit while reading this. Like father, like son.
The correlation between Nick’s controlling behavior and his father’s abuse is subtle but effective. Or maybe with the provocative protagonist? Once you get to know him you start to feel sorry for him because of his relationship with his father and his inability to recognize the seriousness of his situation.

Throughout the whole read, I was fascinated by the way Flinn organized the story. They know that Nick is actually an abusive person who has lived under the poor influence of his father. When you fake it for sixteen years, it becomes part flinm you, something you don’t think about.
On the other hand, I’m glad that someone took the time to write a book about such a serious and much needed topic. This probably influenced m NOTE: Discover what to read next.

Read it Forward Read it first. I would recommend this book, it really gets to your heart, you are constantly wondering what might happen next, and the ending kind of surprises you. She was hurt and Nick did everything in his power to make her feel inferior to him.
