Ventilated space — a space where there is an air change by means of natural ventilation or mechanical means, or where the space communicates with the rest of the structure by means of permanent openings. The chimney shall first be lined with either a Type B vent, sized in accordance with Tables C.
Adequate combustion air shall be provided for the water heater. Chimney — a primarily vertical shaft that encloses at least one flue for conducting flue gases outdoors.
