Review: ‘Devine Intervention’ shows there’s life in afterlife

What is your favorite line in the book? Having intervvention that, I think that the subtle and innocent romance that blooms between Jerome and Heidi makes the story even more touching and beautiful. Coming March 5, ! I laughed until I cried. Let us not mince words! Jerome is very easily a jerk. I had to skip pages because of the description of cat killing.

Can’t recommend it enough. That is such a good question. The guardian angel business wasn’t at all what I expected, what with the levels of hell involving microfiche and washing dirty underwear.

I enjoyed the ending as it is different from most endings in angel books. It’s awkward and sweet and sad, which I think is what high school is for a whole bunch of us. Heidi and Jerome both grow up in this novel and learn to live in the moment and say what they need matrha say to the ones they love.

There is a great legend of the guardian angel who traveled on handsome wings across time and space for the human girl he loved, slaying those who would threaten her with a gleaming sword made of heavenly light. Jerome reacts as any dead teen would when denied immediate entrance and given specific rules to follow to reclaim his soul. My instincts did not fail me on this one. She was suffering just as much as her family and friends were.

With so much emphasis on the comedic aspect of heaven, it became too much. vy

It was like an idea a primary- For me martja was interventiion okay book, a light not exactly light book to read when you lots of time on your hands. Monday, November 19, Apocalypsies Love! I knew without a doubt that I needed to read this book and that I would love it.

Jun 15, Holly rated it really liked it Shelves: He’s someone that you wouldn’t like in real life and yet he worms his way into your heart just as quickly as he has you laughing. I just can’t believe that a teenager would ever think so.

Humorous and unforgettable, Devine Intervention by Martha Brockenbrough is a beautifully written and meaningful story about life and after that will leave readers full of hope and happiness.

The main reason why I loved her character so much is because she wasn’t perfect. It did not disappoint.

Jerome is such a hilarious boy. It is funny and wry and charming and tender. Heidi has always heard a voice in her head, a voice that sings classic rock songs and gives bad advice.

The characters were entertaining and definitely unique. Because its funny and poignant and unexpected and GOOD.

Presenting Lenore: Apocalypsies Love! Book Review: Devine Intervention by Martha Brockenbrough

Shot through the head with an arrow by his best friend, Jerome ends up in purgatory where he must watch over Heidi in order to move on. The only kind of love was the caring kind. Jerome Hancock is Heidi Devine’s guardian angel just not a very good one. I highly highly recomme Truly a wonderful book.

Because if you’re going to get in trouble anyway, you might as well go out in a blaze of glory.

I thought it was cute and heartbreaking. I haven’t read most of my BEA haul yet because a lot of them come out later in the year look for difine huge glut of BEA-related reviews in August and September but it’s a safe bet that this will be one of my favorite books from BEA, if not my absolute favorite.

Can’t wait to see what Brokenbrough has up her sleeve next! It had just the right amount of humor and teen-angst and romance. Jerome Hancock is the guardian angel for Heidi Devine, a sixteen-year-old who plunges into an icy pond when the ice breaks through while Jerome is distracted.
