His ruthlessness really is just practicality hqrd feelings. Eisler has created a great character in John and Tatsu – love that relationship and I personally am glad I have the next 4 novels in the series awaiting me in my library! I hadn’t expected much since I never heard of this series before. Aided by an achingly desirable half Brazilian, half Japanese exotic dancer he knows he shouldn’t trust, Rain pursues his barrt through underground no-holds-barred fight clubs, mobbed-up hostess bars, and finally into the heart of a shadow war between the CIA and the yakuza.

Eisler does as good of a job as anyone explaining how one becomes a killer and the character John Rain demonstrates the urge on several occasions in this telling. A program thats supposed to remove impediments to reform.

My main complaint about the book is that the character’s age does not jibe with the new-improved timeframe of the book. Eisler acknowledges the help of experts in many areas, but it’s eisled own impressive literary skills that make his John Rain such a fascinating, touching and wholly believable bard.
And Rain’s cool description of this punishment only adds to my heebie-jeebies. Reform that would help the Japanese economy.

Harry has a girlfriend. How to read Peter James series? That struck me as a substantial chink in his armor as his predilection for a particular artist. I really enjoyed how this book piggybacked the end of the first in the series disler continued to follow the loose ends left in the first book.

He wasn’t supposed to contact Rain, just find him. There are complications, though, for the target is heavily protected and the target of at least two other groups. Despite the fact that he’s a hired killer who specializes in making his hits look like natural causes, Rain is a very complex individual who has his own rules of engagement.
I have read gobs of scenes in Full disclosure: You read about subway stations, train stations, streets, the characters use japanese expressions which are then translated to english.
To be honest, John Rain scares me. Naturally a part of me is shocked barr Rain’s lack of sympathy, but the other part of me likes that Rain has the detached personality that one would expect from a hitman.
Trying to end his career as an assassin-for-hire, Japanese-American John Rain goes underground only to be approached by nemesis and Japanese FBI agent Harr to eliminate a sociopathic killer who could tip the balance of power in Japan towards the mafia. The second installment of Eisler’s John Rain series offers more of the same, but less.
The shortcomings of the first book also become more pronounced in this one: Withoutabox Submit to Film Festivals. Despite its shortcomings, this is the kind of read you fly through, then start looking around to the next one in the series. How to read C. The hit man-antihero is once again embroiled in the corruption and crime omnipresent in Eisler’s portrayal of Japan, once again caught between yakuza on one hand and the CIA on another, and once again finding inventive ways to kill the people who become threats.

The plot was more interesting, and resolved one of the threads from the first book. I think that is one of the things I enjoy the most, the attention to the details and the ahrd writing.
